Privacy policy
How we collect, use and look after your personal information.
Who we are
Retroworks (“Retroworks”, “we”, “us”) is an automotive business based in Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us about privacy on 07714 508420 or by email at info@retroworksuk.com.
Information we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us, when you:
- Send an enquiry or booking request — your name, phone number, email address (if provided), preferred contact method, the service you need, vehicle details (such as make, model, registration and mileage), your postcode and preferred date (if provided), and anything you write in your message.
- Ask us to buy your vehicle — vehicle make, model, registration, mileage, condition and any other details you share.
- Send a trade enquiry — your business name and contact details.
- Call or message us — your phone number and what you tell us. If you contact us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp’s own privacy policy also applies.
When a form is submitted, our server also records the date and time and a one-way coded version of your IP address. This is used only to prevent spam and abuse.
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and give you the information or quote you asked for.
- To arrange and carry out work you have asked us to do, including contacting you about it.
- To assess a vehicle you have offered to sell to us.
- To keep records we are required to keep by law, such as for accounting.
- To protect our website from spam and misuse.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing unless you have asked us to.
Our lawful basis
Under UK data protection law we rely on: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract and performing a contract when you enquire about or book work; our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and protecting our website; and legal obligation where we must keep certain records.
Who we share it with
We only share personal information where necessary, for example with:
- Providers who host our website and deliver our email, acting on our instructions.
- Parts suppliers or partners, only where needed to complete work you’ve asked for.
- Authorities, where we are required to by law.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details only for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any resulting work, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. After that, they are deleted.
How we protect it
Enquiries sent through this website are stored in an area of our server that cannot be accessed from the web, and we take reasonable steps to protect information we hold. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so please don’t include sensitive information — such as payment card details — in an enquiry form.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it, delete it, or restrict or object to how we use it. To make a request, contact us on 07714 508420.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We’d appreciate the chance to put things right first.
